Continuing on his quest to retake Ecbatana, Prince Arslan and his company march toward the city. As Arslan returns to Peshawar, Prince Hermes takes a slight detour from his clash against his cousin to search for the legendary sword Rukhnabad, which would grant him the right to rule and take back what he believes is rightfully his. Amid holding off the invading forces, the Parsian army is met by an unexpected visitor. But upon receiving news that the neighboring Kingdom of Turan is launching an assault on the Parsian stronghold at Peshawar Citadel, the prince is forced to turn back in order to defend the fortress. I had it years ago, but things are changed now. I managed to get the game (D2 LOD) to run in a window, but I miss the not having to load in a cd.
I though the patch was for the 13 fix, but I downloaded and only had 13d to pick from.

Diablo 2 1.12 patch notes:
If all required Diablo 2 '.MPQ' files are installed on the
hard drive, the game will no longer require the CD to play.
For users that originally performed a 'Full Installation'
and wish to run without the CD, all '.MPQ' files should
be copied from the Diablo 2 CDs to the Diablo 2 directory. Free download corel draw x3 portable for windows xp.
Most users will only need to copy D2Music.mpq from the
Diablo 2 Play CD and/or D2xMusic.mpq from the Lord of
Destruction CD. Mac users will need to copy these music
files and rename them to 'Diablo II Music' and
'Diablo II Expansion Music' respectively.
Anyone who did not perform a 'Full Installation' will need
to re-install from CD again to ultimately play without the CD.
In this case, a 'Full Installation' is required, followed by file
copy step noted above.
A simple search on Google could have gotten you the answer

That is not happening with my Diablo 2 LOD .

Hi there,
I have similar problem. I got regirested my D2 LoD, downloaded the digital installer but it says I need to install D2 first.
Thing is when I try to register my D2 it shows an error:
'The key could not be used. Check the key and try again.' - or something like that.
So I tried to install it via CD. I didn't choose full install.
Did install D2, then LoD, then updated the game via BattleNet to version 1,14d (probably it was 'd'). I could play without CD yesterday, then rebooted PC and now it says I need to insert CD.
Why?

I glanced at your account and I do see licenses there for Diablo 2. If you log in to the website you should be able to access the installers.

Can someone tell me how to download just the 1.13 patch. I currently have 1.12 and I need someone to teach me the step by step details on how to update my d2.

Where can I find the no cd patch for Diablo II LoD? I had to reinstall my copy of LoD and after patching it to 1,13d I found that it asks for the disk even though my previous installation didn't.
What gives?

If you truly have 1.13d, it won't ask for the cd. I suspect you have a registry entry pointing to an older game folder.
Using regedit, look for and delete the following key in your registry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareBlizzard EntertainmentDiablo II
It will be recreated the next time the game is run.

Silly me. You could have asked me if the install software had copied the d2xmusic.mpq and d2xvideo.mpq files on the hard drive. DOH!
